During Your Appointment
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, physically explaining your symptoms, health history and any previous problems with medication is important during your visit with your ENT specialist. Make sure that sure that you understand the treatments and medication requests that your doctor gives you and make your concerns known. Should it be necessary for you to receive a test, ask about the associated aspects of the test (how does it get done, how does it feel, how can I prepared, when will I get results?). Be sure you are clear about any medications you’ll be taking and ask if you can bring any literature home with you. The doctor may have some brochures available for your information.
